NORTHAMPTON - Three goals in the first quarter was enough for Salve Regina University as the Seahawks topped the Smith College field hockey team, 4-2, in NEWMAC action Saturday afternoon.

- Julia scored twice in the first seven minutes for the visitors before Angelina Regels took a corner insert from Kira Spedden for a 3-0 lead
- Laura Dreher (Durham, NH/Oyster River) found the back of the net for Smith with under a minute left in the opening period to make it 3-1
- Regels added her second goal of the game in the third and Smith responded with a Caroline McShea (Pittsburgh, PA/Oakland Catholic) goal in the fourth
- Emma Newman (Clarks Summit/Abington Heights) made four saves in net for Smith
- The Seahawks held an 18-12 edge in shots, while corners were tied at four apiece
- Dreher now leads Smith with six goals on the year
