WELLESLEY - Smith College fell to NEWMAC foe Wellesley with a score of 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Bears are now 7-8 on the year and 2-4 in the NEWMAC, while the Blue improve to 5-9 overall and 3-3 in conference action. 

First Half Highlights
- Wellesley initiated offensive pressure with Annika Schermerhorn's blocked shot at 6:48.
- The Bears' Iseul Park (Ann Arbor, MI/) made two critical saves against Claudia Summers' attempts at 7:39 and 7:52.
- Schermerhorn secured a penalty corner for Wellesley at 7:42, maintaining their offensive momentum.
- Wellesley continued to apply pressure with a late penalty corner by Schermerhorn at 14:57, though Smith held the score at 0-0.
- Summers capitalized on a penalty kick at 16:08, netting her seventh goal of the season to put Wellesley ahead.
- The Bears' Callahan Day (Shady Side, MD/Elizabeth Seton) attempted to shift momentum at 23:42 with a penalty corner, but her shot went wide.
- Wellesley continued to pressure with another penalty corner at 26:18, maintaining their lead into the break.

Second Half Highlights
- Bosket's early shot for Smith was saved by Wellesley's Hannah Simmonds at 32:55.  
- Smith goalkeeper Park made a key save against Nicola Murungi's shot at 37:02.  
- Summers scored at 44:05 off a corner assist by Schermerhorn, extending Wellesley's lead to 2-0.
- Bosket of Smith had an early attempt saved by Wellesley's goalie Simmonds at 45:48.
- Wellesley applied pressure with a series of penalty corners, with Schermerhorn taking one at 55:14.
- Smith's goalkeeper Park recorded another save on a shot from Hamstra during a penalty corner at 56:27.
