Soccer Takes Down Wheaton, 3-0

NORTON - A balanced offensive effort led the Smith College soccer team to a 3-0 win at Wheaton College Saturday afternoon. Goalkeeper Sky Smith (Carlisle, MA/Concord-Carlisle Regional) recorded five saves for her 14th career shutout as Smith earned its first-ever win against Lyons in program history. The Bears move to 3-9-1 on the season with a 2-5 mark in the NEWMAC. The Lyons dip to 7-7, 3-5 NEWMAC.

First Half Highlights
- Amelia Dion (Burlington, VT/Burlington) scored the opening goal at 4:06, marking her first of the season for the Bears.  
- Sky Smith (Carlisle, MA/Concord-Carlisle Regional) made a crucial save at 9:44 on a shot by Wheaton's Karina Contreras.  
- Patricia Bandrup recorded a save at 11:58, stopping a shot from Smith's Riley Branford (Cleveland, OH/Hawken School).  
- Smith maintained pressure with multiple blocked and saved attempts, while Wheaton's Karina Contreras had several high shots.

Second Half Highlights
- Smith's Jenna Marsh (Barnstable, MA/Cape Cod Academy) initiated the period with a shot on goal, saved by Wheaton's Patricia Bandrup.  
- Una Keller (Davis, CA/Davis) expanded the Bears' lead to 2-0 in the 62nd minute, marking her fifth goal of the season.  
- Wheaton's Ali Roche attempted a penalty kick shortly after but was denied by Smith's goalkeeper, Sky Smith (Carlisle, MA/Concord-Carlisle Regional).  
- Kaleigh Quinn (Bristol, RI/St. Mary Academy) sealed the victory for Smith with a goal in the 75th minute, bringing her season total to 12.
