CAMBRIDGE - The Smith College rowing team delivered an impressive performance at the 60th Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday. The varsity eight finished in fifth place in the Collegiate Eights while the second varsity eight placed 22nd overall.
The varsity eight posted a time of 17:14.988, finishing ahead of NEWMAC foe Wellesley by nearly six seconds. The second varsity eight turned in a time of 18:20.904.
"Today the team showed that we can compete with the top teams in the country and execute in high pressure situations," said head coach
Clare Doyle. "These results are a reflection of the energy, grit, and gratitude that Smith Rowing brings to practice every day. This team is thrilled to see the payoff of their hard work, and excited to continue the journey toward racing in April and May."
