SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY - The Smith College rowing team concluded their fall racing season at the Head of the Fish Regatta with a number of boats racing on Saturday. 

HIGHLIGHTS

• The Bears opened the day with four pairs in the open/collegiate pair event
  • A: Julia Beyer (Ardmore, Pa./Friends' Central School), Kathleen Bacigalupi (Saint Paul, MN/Highland Park) - 4th
  • B: Jackie Wiechmann (Washington DC/Jackson-Reed), Zeynep Akdor - 11th
  • C: Rayna Rose (Brookline, MA/Brookline), Anna Boden (Seattle, WA/Holy Names Academy) - 6th
  • D: Elearnor Madley, Ellie Chungath (Des Moines, IA/Theodore Roosevelt) - 14th
• In the Collegiate 8 race, the Varsity 8 came in sixth out of 17 crews
• The 2V8 placed 11th and 3V8 finished 12th overall with both finishing as the highest DIII boat in their category
• With 41 total crews competing in the Collegiate 4 race, Smith's top boat placed 15th overall, while the 2V4 was 31st
• The day ended with the 1N8 placing fifth overall and first among Division III crews
• The 2N8 crossed the line 11th overall which was second of all B entries in the event
