Northampton, MA - As the anticipation builds for another thrilling season, Smith College Softball has officially released its 2025 schedule, packed with exciting matchups and key conference battles. The Pioneers are gearing up to make a strong statement this year, and their road to success begins on March 16 with a week long trip to Florida.
A Season of Challenges and Opportunities Begins in Florida
Smith kicks off their season with back-to-back games against Macalester and Bates on March 16 in Florida. The early portion of the schedule features a competitive slate, including matchups against NESCAC opponents Wesleyan (March 17) and Bowdoin (March 17), followed by games against Nazareth and Cortland on March 18. The team will then face Ripon and Kalamazoo on March 20 before concluding their March series with Trinity and SUNY-Geneseo on March 21.
The first home game will be against Keene State on March 28 will mark a turning point as the team prepares for a strong conference campaign.
Conference Play Begins!
April brings a series of tough conference and non-conference battles, including a road game at Westfield State (April 2) and a home contest against Wheaton (April 4). The Pioneers will also travel to Salve Regina on April 5 and host Amherst on April 9 before hitting the road to face Babson (April 11) and Emerson (April 12). With matchups against WPI (April 18), Clark (April 19), Williams (April 23), Wellesley (April 25), and MIT (April 26), Smith will be tested as they push for a strong playoff position.
The Road to NEWMAC Playoffs
With the regular season wrapping up, the Pioneers will have one final home game against Springfield (May 2) and a crucial matchup with Coast Guard (May 3) before the NEWMAC Playoffs begin on May 5. The conference tournament continues through May 11, where Smith aims to compete for a championship title and make a deep postseason run.
