Smith Earns ITA All-Academic Team Distinction; Eight Named Scholar-Athletes

NORTHAMPTON - The Smith College tennis team garnered ITA All-Academic Team honors, as announced by the organization. Additionally, eight student-athletes on the team were named ITA Scholar-Athletes. The Bears posted a 3.925 GPA throughout the 2024-25 year. 

In 2025, 1,269 Division III women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 165 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.

The eight Bears who earned Scholar-Athlete honors are: Ayla Hauser (Knoxville, TN/Bearden), Natazya Simunyola (Lorton, VA/South County High School), Dayana Caluna (Plainfield, NJ/College Achieve), Clara Goshgarian (Lake Forest, IL/Lake Forest), Marielle Sauber (The Woodlands, TX/The John Cooper School), Alexa Konstantopoulos (Waltham, MA/Buckingham Browne & Nichols), Tabitha Bastress (Charlotte, VT/Champlain Valley Union High School), and Lili Goshgarian (Lake Forest, IL/Lake Forest)

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
  • Be listed on the institutional eligibility form

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
  • All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
  • All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
