NORTHAMPTON, MA. — Smith College (1-5-1, 0-1-0) dominated Nichols College (1-8-0, 0-2-0) with an 8-0 victory on Tuesday afternoon. The Smith Bears' offense was potent, scoring four goals in each half, and the defense held Nichols to just five shots. Smith's goalkeeper recorded a shutout with three saves.
Smith holds a record of 1-5-1 overall and 0-1-0 in conference play. Nichols falls to 1-8-0 overall and 0-2-0 in conference play.
First Half Â
- Smith initiated offensive pressure early, with
Kaleigh Quinn (Bristol, RI/St. Mary Academy) and
Una Keller (Davis, CA/Davis) each registering a shot within the opening minutes. Â
- Quinn broke through in the 32nd minute, netting the opening goal with an assist from
Helena Prusak (Shaker Heights, OH/Wyoming Seminary). This goal marked the start of Quinn's record-breaking performance, as she went on to score five goals in the game, breaking the Smith Soccer program history record previously set by Ellie Theurer on September 22nd, 2010, against Elms. Â
- Just over a minute later,
Jenna Marsh (Barnstable, MA/Cape Cod Academy) doubled the Bears' lead, converting with assists from
Una Keller (Davis, CA/Davis) and
Helena Prusak (Shaker Heights, OH/Wyoming Seminary). Â
- Quinn secured a first-half hat-trick, scoring her third goal in the 39th minute, aided by Marsh, to extend the lead to 4-0. Â
Second Half Â
- Keller initiated the scoring in the 49th minute with a goal for Smith. Â
- The Bears extended their lead with Quinn scoring twice in quick succession by the 53rd minute, assisted once by Marsh. Quinn's five-goal haul in the match set a new high in Smith's program history, showcasing her scoring prowess. Â

Julia Dolph (Healdsburg, CA/Healdsburg) netted Smith's fourth goal of the half in the 61st minute, bringing the total to 8-0. Â
- Nichols attempted to respond with shots on goal, but
Blair Pasarkar (Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) recorded multiple saves to maintain the clean sheet. Â
Hannah Deschene led the Nichols goalkeepers with six saves in the second half, facing 13 shots on goal. Isabella Dupret contributed three saves during her 45 minutes in net, dealing with 14 shots. Schylar Locasto and Caroline Shields were noted for their offensive efforts, each recording a shot on goal, while Summer Bruno attempted two shots, with one on target.
Smith plays host to Springfield College on Saturday at 1pm.Â
