MARLBOROUGH - For the first time this season, Smith lacrosse senior attacker,
Kyra Hawk (San Jose, CA/The Harker School), has been named the NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Hawk totaled 12 goals and added an assist in a 2-1 week for the Bears. She tied her career-high with seven goals in Smith's 20-7 victory over Mount Holyoke before adding four in a 14-13 victory against Westfield State. She chipped in one as Smith faced No. 8 Amherst earlied this week. Hawk leads the NEWMAC with 29 goals so far this season.
Smith lacrosse improved to 5-2 on the season with the result against Mount Holyoke. The squad is in Panama City Beach, FL and will battle No. 11 Denison on Tuesday, March 17 at 7:00pm.
