Four From Swim & Dive Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

April 17, 2026

NORTHAMPTON - Four student-athletes from the Smith swimming & diving teams were named 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District ® selections, announced Tuesday.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

The Smith student-athletes recognized are: The quartet helped Smith finish sixth at the NEWMAC Championship as diver Katherine Welsh (St. Paul, MN/Saint Paul Academy) competed at the NCAA Division III Northeast-North Diving Regional. Wang, Caputo, and Schultz made up the 400 medley relay team that combined for a school record at the NEWMAC Championships. The Bears nine dual meet wins were the most since the 1985-86 season.

"Our entire team has thrived both in the pool and off the boards and in the classroom. I am beyond proud of them. The accomplishments of Katherine, Jessie, Abby and Emma are outstanding. To have these 4 receive this recognition for their work both athletically and in the classroom is well deserved and builds off the exciting momentum from our 14 team members who earned NEWMAC Academic All-Conference selections."

These selections build on the 14 NEWMAC All-Conference selections, the second-most in the NEWMAC only to MIT:
