NORTHAMPTON - Junior Kyra Hawk (San Jose, CA/The Harker School) recorded her 200th career point on Saturday in Smith lacrosse's 15-8 NEWMAC win over Emerson. Hawk becomes just the fourth player in program history to reach the 200-point milestone. The Bears improve to 10-6 on the year and 6-3 in conference games, while the Lions drop to 4-11, 0-8 NEWMAC.

Layna Fitzgerald (Indianapolis, IN/Cathedral) quickly capitalized, scoring the first goal at 13:53, establishing an early lead. The Bears maintained pressure, with Kyra Hawk (San Jose, CA/The Harker School) finding the net at 9:05, assisted by Jenna Paczkowski (Jupiter, FL/Choate Rosemary Hall), and Sofia Pascua (Carlsbad, CA/Sage Creek) adding another goal at 6:19, assisted by Emma Butterick (Windsor, CT/Windsor). The Bears continued to dominate as Caroline Sanders (Orange County, CA/Santa Margarita Catholic) extended the lead at 4:21. Fitzgerald closed out the scoring for the quarter with her second goal at 3:07. The Bears ended the first period with a commanding 5–0 advantage over the Lions.

Smith extended their lead with a dominant second quarter, starting with Fitzgerald's goal at 14:06. Leila Bannon (Brunswick, ME/Brunswick) secured multiple draw controls, aiding the Bears' momentum. Hoffman, assisted by Hawk, scored at 13:38, followed by another goal from Fitzgerald at 12:39. Paczkowski added to the tally at 9:41. Pascua and Caroline Weyhrich (Boise, ID/Boise) also found the net, bringing the quarter's score to 11–0 in favor of the Bears. The Lions struggled offensively, with several turnovers and failed clear attempts, while the Bears' Brooke Testa (Pittstown, NJ/Delaware Valley) made key saves.

The Lions got on the board less than two minutes into the third when Ava DelliCompagni scored unassisted. The teams played an even third, making the score 14-3 in favord of the Bears heading into the fourth.

The Lions mounted a strong comeback in the fourth quarter, scoring five goals to the Bears' one. After three goals to start the period, Smith's lone response came from Danika Lipchitz (Needham, MA/Gann Academy), scoring at 3:50 with an assist from Sanders.
