No. 6 Rowing Places Third at NY State Championships

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY - The sixth-ranked Smith College rowing team had all crews race in a grand final Saturday at the New York State Rowing Championships. 

The Varsity 8 placed third in the Grand Final, posting the fastest Division III time of 7:18.874, only behind DI boats Colgate and Marist. The Varsity 8 won their morning heat, recording the second fastest time of the morning, only 0.4 seconds behind Marist.  

In the Second Varsity 8 morning heat, Smith placed second in 7:30.869 behind Marist. They followed that with a sixth place finish in the Grand Final. 

The 3V won their race with the top time of 7:46.670, while the 4V placed fourth in 8:10.329, competing against 3V boats.
