NORTHAMPTON, Mass. — The Smith College tennis program will host its fall clinic series on six consecutive Thursdays from Sept. 10 through Oct. 15, offering instruction for players from kindergarten through adulthood. Every session is taught by the Smith tennis coaching staff and student-athletes.
The youth clinics, open to beginner and intermediate players, are built around a play-and-learn environment. Through intentional play, participants develop the fundamentals of the game while learning how to compete.
On the adult side, the 3.5-4.5 Skills and Tactics Clinic offers a college-style practice centered on live-ball drills designed to sharpen singles and doubles strategy. Players unsure of where they fit can click here to determine their NTRP rating.
New this year is an adult beginner clinic for those who are new to the sport or have limited experience. Over the six weeks, participants will work through the essential strokes — forehand, backhand, serve and volley — learn scoring, and be introduced to rallying and point play.
Smith One Card and Community Pass holders receive a $20 discount on any clinic.
