Katelyn Barton

Katelyn Barton enters her second year as Smith College Softball's Graduate Assistant Coach during the 2023-24 season. 

Barton graduated from Wheaton College in 2022 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology where she was a four-year member and senior captain of her varsity softball team. 

Prior to joining Smith College, Barton coached with the NEXT9Up Softball Academy, collaborating with the other coaches to enhance the players' knowledge and skill of the game. Barton also served as an instructor for three years for the Wheaton College Softball Prospect Clinic, working with high school aged athletes to improve their communication skills and maintain a positive attitude. 

Barton was a shortstop for New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opponent Wheaton College. In Barton's senior season as a captain for the Lyons, she garnered NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team after hitting .331 (42-127) with a .379 on-base percentage and a .457 slugging mark. Barton also worked for Wheaton as a game management staff member for volleyball games and as a gym attendant. Barton is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Exercise and Sports Studies at Smith College.
