Kate Kerrigan will enter her second season working with the Smith College basketball staff as a graduate assistant coach during the 2018-19 season. Kerrigan comes to Smith College from Bowdoin College, where she graduated last May with a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Psychology. Kerrigan is working to obtain her Master's degree in Exercise and Sport Studies.
Kerrigan, hailing from Wellesley Hills, Mass., was named the 2018 DIII Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) National Player of the Year after leading her team to the 2018 National Championship game in her senior season. Throughout her career, Kerrigan was a three-time NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year, three-time All-NESCAC honoree, and an Academic All-Conference selection from 2016 - 2018. In her senior season, Kerrigan was recognized as the NESCAC Player of the Year, the NEWBA Player of the Year and the D3hoops.com Northeast Region Player of the Year, while also being the DIII Honda Athlete of the Year nominee for Basketball.
 
Kerrigan is the only player in Bowdoin women's basketball history to total more than 1,000 points, 600 rebounds, 300 assists and 200 steals in a career.
