Andrea Lipson

Andrea Lipson enters her second year as a graduate assistant coach with the Smith College lacrosse team during the 2020-21 season. Lipson will work with the coaching staff on all aspects of the program while pursuing a Master's Degree in Exercise and Sport Studies.

Lipson graduated from Goucher College in Towson, Maryland in May 2012 with a degree in Peace Studies. She then went on to complete her Master’s of Science in Global Affairs from New York University in January 2017. In her four years at Goucher, Lipson played attack for the lacrosse team. She also played soccer her freshman year before committing to lacrosse for her last three years as a Gopher.

In her first year out of college, the Pennsylvania-native stayed local and returned to her alma mater, George School, to coach the Girls’ Junior Varsity Soccer and Lacrosse teams. Since then, she has continued to coach youth programs as she now has over fifteen seasons of coaching experience. Lipson has kept up with her certifications as well as she recently acquired her US Lacrosse Level 3 Coaching Certification in January 2020.

Before committing to the Exercise and Sport Science program at Smith, Lipson interned at Women Win, a global nonprofit that utilizes sports to empower the most marginalized women and girls.Â
