Northampton, Mass.--The Pioneers came out with a win at home against Husson University with a score of 183-106, winning 11 of 16 events. The win brings the team's record to 3-3 in dual meets.
Smith dominated the 1000 Yard Freestyle with Michelle Mai ' 13 (Paris, France) taking first place wtih a time of 11:56.29 and Rachael Gainer '13 (Atlanta, Georgia) coming in second (3:04.94).
The Pioneers had several season and lifetime bests today. Charlotte Mailly '12 (West Hartford, CT) swam a season best in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:20.36), Rebecca Rosen '12 (Harrington Park, NJ) had a limetime best time of 1:02.66 in the100 Yard Freestyle, and Michelle Cotrite '14 (Santa Monica, CA) had a lifetime best in the 200 Yard IM. Faith Latella '10 (Douglastown, NY) made an impressive return to the pool after knee problems with a season best in 50 Yard Freestyle (26.86) and first place in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 58.42. Rachel Dean '13 (Ramona, CA) dropped 4 seconds of her previous time in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:33.26).
