SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--
Mackenzie Bradley (Sherwood, Ore./Sherwood) recorded two wins as the Smith College swimming and diving team fell to Springfield 164-123 on Saturday. Bradley won both the 1,000 yard freestyle and the 500 yard freestyle.
In the 1,000, Bradley was completely dominant, touching the wall in 11:02.21, setting a new personal best by nearly four seconds and outpacing her nearest competitor by 29 seconds. She was also outstanding in the 500 free, finishing in 5:24.62 and winning by 11 seconds over the second place swimmer.
She was joined by
Alyssa Pascuzzo (Scottsdale, Ariz./Notre Dame Prep),
Victoria Wu (Avon, Conn./Avon), and Elyse Johnston on the 200 freestyle relay that also posted a winning time in 1:50.06.
Pascuzzo also won the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:04.22, while
Paige Christie (N. Andover, Mass./Austin Prep) took second in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:25.82, missing out on first place by .10 seconds. Christie joined forces with
Ariel Orr (Hamden, Conn./Harare International School), Johnston, and Pascuzzo in the 400 yard medley relay that finished third in 4:37.86.
Smith will make their home debut in their next meet, hosting Elms College on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
