Game Preview: Basketball vs. Trinity

NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The Smith College basketball team (7-1) will play their second consecutive road contest and fourth game in a week when they play at Trinity College (Conn.) (4-4) on Saturday in a 1 p.m. contest. 

Last Meeting: Smith struggled from the floor, shooting 30.9 percent (17-55) in a 64-40 loss to the Bantams on December 11, 2010.  Rosa Drummond (Rye, N.H./Portsmouth) led Smith with 12 points and seven rebounds. 

Last Smith Win: Dasen Woitkowski scored 29 points as Smith beat the Bantams in overtime, 59-55, on December 2, 2002.

Smith Overview: Smith got back to winning ways with a 57-42 win over Coast Guard on Tuesday night.  Ellie Giles (Charlottesville, Va./St. Annes Belfield) scored a season-high 14 points and pulled down seven boards to lead Smith, who pulled away from the Bears by scoring the final 10 points of the game.

Trinity Overview: The Bantams outscored Rivier 14-1 in overtime to break open a close contest and defeat the Raiders 68-55 on Tuesday night.  It's been an up-and-down season for Trinity, who have no won consecutive games this year.
 
Smith Player to Watch: Devon Quattrocchi (Brewster, N.Y./Brewster) was the only other player in double-figures against Coast Guard, netting 12 points on 6-8 shooting.

Trinity Player to Watch: Michelle Royals scored 22 points in the win against Rivier, overcoming 6-15 shooting from the floor with 80% (8-10) from the foul line.
