PRINCETON, N.J.--Wins from Elizabeth Guyman (Seattle, Wash./Lakeside) and Jennifer Krain (Rosemont, Pa./Harriton) were not enough as the Smith College squash team fell to Georgetown University, 7-2 in the semifinal of the D Division of the Howe Cup at Princeton University.

Guyman recorded an 11-5, 11-7, 11-4 win at No. 6, while Krain also won 3-0 with an 11-4, 11-9, 11-9 win at No. 5.  Xizhu Zhao (Beijing, China/Beijing No. 4) came close for Smith, with a tough 9-11, 8-11, 6-11 loss at No. 9, as did Eunice Zhao (Las Vegas, Nev./Liberty), who lost 9-11, 6-11, 3-11 at No. 4.

Smith will play Wellesley tomorrow morning for third place.  It will be the fourth time the Pioneers and the Blue have met this season;  Wellesley won a 5-4 tilt on November 13, 2010, while Smith won 5-4 in the Pioneer Valley Invitational on January 15, and 6-3 at the Seven Sisters Championship on February 5.
