WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Wellesley College squash team captured the 2015 Seven Sisters Championship Saturday at the Wellesley Squash Courts. After posting shutout victories against Smith College and Vassar College, the Lyons defeated Mount Holyoke College, 7-2 to secure the crown.
The Pioneers began the day with an 8-1 defeat at the hands of the Lyons of Mount Holyoke College. Senior
Jacqueline Zhou (Singapore, Singapore/Raffles Institution) posted her career-best fifth straight win, rallying to defeat Brandy Williamson, 5-11, 11-9, 14-12, 14-12. After being shutout by the eventual champion Lyons of Wellesley College in round two, Smith fell to Vassar 6-3 in the final match of the day. Sophomore
Geena Choo (Singapore, Singapore/Choate Rosemary Hall) earned her first win of the season with a 3-0 (11-2, 11-6, 11-8) victory over Ellie Opdahl at No. 5, while at No. 7, sophomore
Leah Jeon (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada/Collingwood) went four games to post her first victory of the season with a 11-9, 11-13, 11-9, 11-7 win over Steph Zhu. Sophomore
Frankie Scully (San Diego, Calif./University City) earned her first collegiate win at No. 9, defeating Nancy Qi, 11-8, 11-8, 11-7.
Wellesley was followed in the final standings by 28th-ranked Mount Holyoke (2-1), 33rd-ranked Vassar (1-2) and 36th-ranked Smith (0-3).

Jana Chan (San Francisco, Calif./The Bay School) were both named to the All-Seven Sisters Tournament Team. Joining the duo was Sarah Zhang, Phyllis Lin and Gabriella Wynne from Wellesley, Brandy Williamson and Emily Chang from Mount Holyoke, and Hannah Nice and Isabelle Bertram from Vassar.
