NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The season begins for the Smith College basketball team (0-0) when the Pioneers travel to Roger Williams (1-0) on Saturday evening.

Smith Overview: The Pioneers enter the season with high expectations after capturing the programs' first ECAC Championship a season ago. Smith returns three starters and nine players from last year's team, that set a program record with 23 wins.
Roger Williams Overview: An improving program, the Hawks have gone from nine wins in 2009-10 to averaging 15 wins over the last two years. Roger Williams returns their two leading scorers from a year ago - Kaitlyn Bovee and Akexandria Lanieri combined to average nearly 28 points per game.

Rosa Drummond (Rye, N.H./Portsmouth) has led the team in scoring in each of the last two seasons, earning All-Conference honors a year ago.
Roger Williams Player to Watch: Bovee led the team in scoring in 16 of 26 games last year, going over the 20 point mark seven times.
