NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The Smith College basketball team (14-4, 9-3 NEWMAC) will look to take another step closer to locking up a high playoff seed with a road trip to Springfield College (11-8, 7-5 NEWMAC) on Wednesday night.
Last Meeting: Springfield snapped Smith's season opening six game winning streak with a 54-46 win on December 6, 2011. Down three points at halftime, the Pride
outscored Smith 30-19 in the second half to deal the Pioneers their first loss of the season.
Paulina Solis (Santa Ana, Calif./Foothill) topped Smith with 13 points.
Last Smith Win: Smith won their fifth consecutive gamewith a
46-35 win at Springfield on February 16, 2011.

Devon Quattrocchi led Smith with 12 points apiece.
Smith Overview: The Pioneers won their fourth consecutive game with a 61-50 win over Wheaton College (Mass.) on January 28.
Devon Quattrocchi (Brewster, N.Y./Brewster) led Smith with 12 points, as Smith used a late 10-0 run to break up a close game.
Lizzy BelBruno (Hanover, N.H./Hanover) added 11 points for Smith.
Springfield Overview: The Pride snapped a two game losing skid with a 60-57 overtime win over Wellesley College on Saturday. Kelly Slattery scored a career high 27 points, including a perfect 11-for-11 from the charity stripe.
Smith Player to Watch: Quattrocchi's scoring has improved in the last month, but her ability as a facilitator - averaging 3.5 assists per game and a 1.97 assist-to-turnover ration - are her key contributions to the current qinning streak.
Springfield Player to Watch: Slattery's career high against Wellesley was the fifth straight game she's led the team in scoring. The senior averages a team high 12.1 points per game and shoots 80 percent from the line.
