NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--There's a quick turnaround for the Smith College basketball team (11-1, 6-0 NEWMAC), who will play the second of three straight road contests with a visit to Clark University (8-5, 3-3 NEWMAC) on Thursday night. Clark leads the all-time series 29-10, but Smith has won the last four meetings between the teams.
Last Meeting: Rosa Drummond was one of four Smith players in double-figures andEllie Giles pulled down a career high 15 rebounds as the Smith College basketball team won for the seventh game in succession with a 68-62 win over Clark University on February 8, 2012.
Smith Overview: The Pioneers set a new school record for consecutive wins with a 63-47 victory over MIT on Tuesday evening. A 14-5 run early in the second half put Smith in front for good, after the Engineers had tied it up early in the second half.
Clark Overview: The Cougars are 4-5 after a season opening four game winning streak. Clark lost to cross-town rival WPI 74-53 score on Tuesday night, getting outrebounded 46-36, and shooting 32% from the floor.
Smith Player to Watch: Rosa Drummond (Rye, N.H./Portsmouth) has been on fire recently, averaging 22 points, and shooting 60% from three point range in the last two contests.
Clark Player to Watch: Junior Emily Reilly averages 17 points per game, and has scored at least 12 points in every game this season.
