Jessica Lillquist (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme) matched a career high with seven goals for Smith (3-13, 0-6 NEWMAC), while Rachel Silveria (Dunstable, Mass./Groton-Dunstable) and Kate Detrick (Petaluma, Calif./Sonoma Academy) each found the net twice.

Allison Robbins and Brit Mscisz both collected six goals and one assist for the Blue (7-7, 2-4 NEWMAC), who also got five goals from Claire Canty.

The Pioneers opened the scoring with exactly one minute played, as Lillquist got on the board with an unassisted tally.  After Canty equalised at the 27:29 mark, Petru Bester (Deep River, Conn./Valley Regional) restored Smith's lead 33 seconds later with her 24th goal of the season.

After Tya Logan saved from Lillquist on a free position shot, Wellesley reeled off three straight goals, all while playing a person down as Robbins scored once and Mscisz twice for a 4-2 Wellesley lead.

Lillquist responded with her second of the game to get Smith within 4-3, but a goal from Meaghan Fuchs, and two from Mscisz on either side of a Kate Detrick (Petaluma, Calif./Sonoma Academy) goal game Wellesley a 6-4 advantage.

The two teams traded the next for goals, as Milger netted her second of the season to get Smith within 8-6.  Wellesley grabbed one more before halftime through Chesley Hooker.

The Blue went on a tear to open the second half, scoring five of the first seven and nine of the first 12 to open up an 18-9 lead.

Lillquist and Detrick scored 30 seconds apart to get Smith within seven, but Wellesley got goals from Hooker and Canty that pushed the lead back to nine.

Smith made one final rally in the final four minutes, with goals from Silveria, Christina Vara (Hudson, Mass./Hudson), and Lillquist trimming the gap to six with one minute left.

Savannah Lawson (Oak Bluffs, Mass./Martha's Vineyard) made nine saves in net for Smith, while Logan had 11 stops for Wellesley.
