NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The Smith College squash team fell to Amherst College and Connecticut College on the first day of the Pioneer Valley Invitational on Friday. Smith will continue play against Colby College on Saturday.
Smith found it tough going against Amherst in a 9-0 defeat, with
Vivian Lee (Seoul, South Korea/Yongsan International School of Seoul) coming closest to a win at the No. 1 position, falling 4-11, 2-11, 5-11.
In the day's second match against Conn. College, Smith also fell 9-0.
Vivian Lee (Seoul, South Korea/Yongsan International School of Seoul) played another solid match at No. 1, falling 2-11, 4-11, 12-14 against Caroline Sargent, while
Leah Jeon (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada/Collingwood) also went close against Charlotte Novak, in a 4-11, 8-11, 0-11 match at No. 8.
