NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Seniors
Vivian Lee (Seoul, South Korea/Yongsan International School of Seoul),
Roseanne Hui (San Marino, Calif./San Marino) and
Laura Chesney (Glendale, Calif./South Pasadena) were honored before the opening match of the 2013 Seven Sisters Squash Championship hosted by Smith College, on Saturday.
The team shouldered a 9-0 decision in the opener against an alternate Mount Holyoke lineup. Lee played a competitive match at No. 1, against a student-athlete that normally plays at No. 3, (8-11, 4-11, 13-15) and narrowly forced a fourth game. Hui suffered a similar fate as she fell 3-11, 5-11, 10-12 at No. 9.
Gracie Maull (Exeter, N.H./Miss Porters (CT)) had a good match despite a 6-11, 8-11, 7-11 setback at No. 5 against the Lyons. She was also the most consistent Pioneer in a 9-0 loss to Wellesley (2-11, 2-11, 2-11).
Wellesley unseated seven-time champion Mount Holyoke by going 2-0 on the day, including a 6-3 victory in a head-to-head matchup.
The All-Tournament team was announced at a banquet following an informal individual flight competition.

Smith is slated to compete in the Howe Cup, the United States' largest squash event for women and an annual team championship tournament run by US Squash, on February 21-23 at Princeton.
