NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The fourth-seeded Smith College women's basketball team (16-11) will host fifth-seeded Rivier University (20-7) on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. in an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Women's Basketball Championship quarterfinal matchup.

Last Meeting:  The Pioneers secured their first home postseason win, and first postseason victory in 23 years, with a 95-67 triumph in the 2012 ECAC Division III Women's Basketball Championship quarterfinals en route to the 2012 title.

The Series: This is the second meeting between the two schools.

Fast Facts: Rivier was ousted from the GNAC semifinals as the Raiders were upended 79-72 by Saint Joseph's (Maine) on February 27…All-GNAC First Team member Deanna Purcell paces the Raiders with 18.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game…Rivier suffered a home loss (83-68) to Trinity, while the Pioneers fell by one point to the Bantams on the road (58-57)…Rosa Drummond (Rye, N.H./Portsmouth) and Paulina Solis (Santa Ana, Calif./Foothill) were named to the NEWMAC All-Conference First Team…Drummond enters the game tied with Phoebe Jacob '93 atop the career scoring leaderboard – in terms of games played in a Smith uniform - with 1,441 points…Sydney Parkmond (Waterbury, Conn./Chase Collegiate) who is 15th with 763 career points has a chance to move up a spot or two on the leaderboard…Marissa Munoz-Ruiz (Fairfield, Calif./Justin-Siena) is just outside the top-10 with 176 career assists.

Next Up: The winner advances to the ECAC Division III Women's Basketball Championship semifinals on Saturday at a site to be determined.
