The Owls forced 16 second half turnovers as Jill Valley finished with six steals and Alyssa Darling added five. Freshman Lucy Barrett was named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Rookie of the Week on Monday, averaging 13.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 13.5 minutes in two wins. Valley (14.9 ppg) and Nkamebo (13.5 ppg) rank second and fourth in the MASCAC in points per game, while Nkamebo is fifth in field goal percentage, shooting 45.8 percent from the field. Valley and Kirsy Segarra are the top two three-point shooters in the conference. Through eight games, the Owls average 90.5 points per game and are shooting 37.6 percent from the field and 30.3 percent from 3-point range.
The PioneersSmith (2-5) looks to snap a three game losing-streak as they welcome Westfield State to town Saturday. The Pioneers are coming off a 65-54 loss to Williams on Wednesday evening. In that game, first-year

Samantha Alakai (Pukalani, Hawaii/Punahou School) is fifth in the NEWMAC, shooting 38.9 percent from behind the arc. The Pioneers score 60.3 points per game and are shooting 34.8 percent from the field and 25.2% from long distance.
