THE SERIES
The game marks the 17th all-time meeting between the two programs, dating back to the first contest in 2001 - a 1-0 Pioneers victory. Smith has controlled the series with an 11-5 overall mark, including victories in three straight contests.

LAST MEETING
Bayleigh Bogan (Encinitas, Calif./La Costa Canyon) scored twice in the second half to lead Smith to a 5-0 victory over visiting Western New England on October 8, 2015. Emily Biggs (Florence, Mass./Northampton), Julia Hamilton (Williamstown, Mass./Deerfield Academy) and Caroline Labriola (Westbrook, Conn./Westbrook) each found the back of the net and goalkeeper Cameo Tietje (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) made one stop for the Pioneers, who held a 21-3 advantage in shots. 

LAST WNEU WIN
Behind the efforts of four different scorers, the Golden Bears powered past Smith College by a 6-3 margin on October 11, 2012. Allie Stein netted two goals and Marissa Vera added one for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers have outscored WNE 27-11 over the last five meetings. 

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN BEARS
WNE enters tonight's game after a 4-3 win over Salve Regina Tuesday afternoon. In that game, Brittany DeLima racked up three assists, including classmate Michelle Carlson's game-winner late in the second half. Sophomore midfielder Emily Antinozzi leads the Golden Bears with 10 goals, three assists for 23 points. Junior goalkeeper Grace Trupe owns a 3.01 goals against average and .700 save percentage. Both Golden Bears that earned All-CCC recognition in 2015 will be back this season, as junior forwards DeLima and Allison Jackson are set to power the offense. WNE averages 3.40 goals per game.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Smith looks to get back in the win column this evening after their 3-2 heartbreaking loss to area-rival Mount Holyoke Tuesday evening. In that game, sophomore midfielders Emily Biggs (Florence, Mass./Northampton) and Alex Larosee (Warwick, R.I./Wheeler School) scored for the Pioneers, while junior goalkeeper Cameo Tietje (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) made 11 saves in the setback. Tietje garnered NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Week honors Monday and was named to the NFHCA/Longstreth Honor Roll on Wednesday while owning a 0.777 save percentage and 1.88 goals against average. Senior forward Elsie Odhiambo (Oyugis, Kenya/Kisumu Girls School) leads the offense with five goals to go along with one assist. The Pioneers average 1.55 goals per game.
