THE SERIES
The game marks the 38th all-time meeting between the two programs, dating back to the first contest in 1987 - a 2-0 Pioneers victory. The Beavers have won 14 of the last 16 matches between the teams. 

LAST MEETING
Sophomore Ashley Tango scored twice in the opening eight minutes and Elizabeth Holmes '16 recorded a career-high three assists as the then-13th-ranked Beavers defeated Smith, 4-0, on October 10, 2015. Kayla Costa '16 made three saves to post her school-record eighth shutout of the year for the Green and White.

LAST SMITH WIN
Jenny Estes scored 2:17 into overtime as Smith used three unanswered goals to rally for a 3-2 win over Babson on October 11, 2014. Caroline Malone '15 and Megan Jones each scored to give the Beavers a 2-0 lead just over 22 minutes into the contest. Senior Nora Demick (Watertown, Mass/Beaver Country Day) made 10 saves for the Pioneers.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
No. 8 Babson (11-1, 4-0 NEWMAC) extended its winning streak to six with a 4-1 victory at 20th-ranked Wellesley on Tuesday. Junior Elise Towers scored twice and Tango and senior Staci Swallow each added a goal for the Beavers, who led 3-0 at the half. Towers (15-4-34) leads the conference in goals and points, Tango (12-8-32) ranks ninth nationally in points per game and sophomore Lauren Drakeley (5-9-19) is ninth in Division III in assists per game. First-year goalkeeper Deirdre Barry is fourth nationally in goals against average (0.61) and has posted a .750 save percentage to go along with three shutouts in 11 starts. Babson returns 14 players, which includes eight starters and a trio of all-conference selections from a team that set a program record with 13 straight wins to begin last season.The Beavers were picked to finish second in the Preseason Coaches Poll. 

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Smith (7-5, 3-1 NEWMAC) has won four of its last five games after edging Western New England, 4-3, on Thursday night. Junior Julia Hamilton (Williamstown, Mass./Deerfield Academy) and sophomore Emily Biggs (Florence, Mass./Northampton) both scored twice for the Pioneers, who went ahead for good on Biggs' tally with 1:58 left in regulation. Hamilton (5-2-12), senior Elise Odhiambo (5-2-12) and Biggs (4-0-8) have combined to score six game-winning goals, while sophomore Bayleigh Bogan (Encinitas, Calif./La Costa Canyon) (1-4-6) leads the team in assists. Biggs has scored in the last three games for the Pioneers. Junior goalkeeper Cameo Tietje (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa), who is second in the conference with 74 saves, has posted a 2.54 goals against average and a .755 save percentage this season. Tietje garnered NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Week honors Monday and was named to the NFHCA/Longstreth Honor Roll on Wednesday. The Pioneers were selected to finish fifth in the NEWMAC Preseason Coaches Poll. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
The Beavers lead the country in scoring margin ( 4.11), rank second in scoring offense (4.75 goals) and fourth in goals against average (0.67) among Division III teams.
