The Pioneers placed first in four events as Springfield claimed a 171-117 victory over Smith on November 10, 2015 in Springfield. Smith swept both diving events, while
Desi Stoyanova (Plovdiv, Bulgaria)Â clocked in first in the 200 IM (2:23.03). The 200 free relay team of Meri Millman,
Claire Dudek (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase),
Abby Onos (South Portland, Maine/South Portland) and
Erin Walch (Alexandria, Ky./Academy of Math & Science)Â swam to a first place time of 1:50.93.Â
SCOUTING THE PRIDE
The Springfield swimming and diving team is coming off a 1-1 showing at a tri-meet hosted by MIT this past weekend.
 Springfield bested Wellesley by a 180-144 score, and dropped a 229-71 decision to MIT. Olivia Paione had a very strong meet as she placed second in the 200 IM with 2:15.26, finished third in the 200 free with a 1:59.87, and also took third in the 500 free after posting a 5:26.30.In the diving events, Sierra Skaza took third on both boards, tallying a 238.20 on the one-meter and a 231.60 on the three-meter.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Smith defeated Babson College, 198-91 but fell to Brandeis, 154-135 , and the hosts from WPI, 172-117 Friday evening in a quadrangular meet at WPI. Junior
Elly Stone (West borough, Mass./Westborough), who recorded an NCAA regional diving championship qualifying score on the 3-meter board, finished first in both diving events. SeniorÂ
Eliza Cummings (Denver, Colo./Denver Center for Int'l Studies) posted a personal best time of 2:03.07 in the 200 free for first and followed that with a third place finish in the 500 free (5:32.08).

Kim Bierwert, who is in his 40th season as head coach of the Pioneers, needs just one win for 200 in his career (199-159-3).
