THE SERIES
This is the first meeting between these two shools.

SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS
Salve Regina (2-7) enters Friday's game after a dominating 88-48 win over Fisher College on December 12. Kerri Beland led all scorers scoring 25 points for the Seahawks while grabbing three boards. Allyson Esielionis and Torie Scorpio were other top scorers for Salve with 16 points and 15 points, respectively. The Seahawks women's basketball team graduated its all-time leading scorer and four-time First Team All-Conference guard in Meaghan Harden, who led the league in points per game last season (17.1 ppg). Salve will rely on an incoming group of freshmen to be role players in 2016-17. The trio of Beland, Scorpio, and Esielionis are each scoring in double figures this year. The offense averages 62.6 points per game.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Smith (6-3) hopes to close out 2016 with their third-strain win after a 60-41 victory over Bridgewater State on December 15. In that game, sophomore forward Kennedy Guest-Pritchett (Fairburn, Ga./The Lawrenceville School) recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 17 points and a game-high 14 rebounds while Erin Hanley (San Francisco, Calif./St. Ignatius College Prepatory) shot 6-of-12 from the field to finish with 18 points and nine boards. Guest-Pritchett leads the NEWMAC in rebounds per game (10.9) and is fifth in scoring (14.6). Hanley is averaging 13.0 points, 6.7 rebounds per game while Castro leads the team with 3.1 assists per contest. The Pioneers have the league's fourth-highest scoring offense averaging 69.0 points per game.
