Last Meeting
The Pioneers jumped out to a 7-0 lead en route to a 70-61 triumph at Wellesley on February 21, 2015. Meghan Holland (Atherton, Calif./Sacred Heart Prepatory) finished with a team-high 15 points, while forwards Samantha Alakai (Pukalani, Hawaii/Punahou School) and Amanda Barriscale (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais) led Smith in assists (5) and rebounds (11), respectively. Four Pioneers scored in double figures, including Alakai (11), Paige Marquez (San Francisco, Calif./St. Ignatius College Preparatory) (10) and Alyssa Barrett (Berlin, Conn./Berlin) (13).

The Series
In a series that dates back to 1975, this is the 65th meeting between these two schools. Smith leads 37-27 and have won three-straight. The Pioneers are 14-13 on the road.

Playoff Implications
Smith (5-9 NEWMAC) and Emerson (5-9 NEWMAC) are tied for the last playoff spot but the Pioneers hold the advantage, sweeping the season series against the Lions.

The Blue
Wellesley (4-17, 2-12 NEWMAC) snapped an 11 game losing streak with their 41-26 win against Mount Holyoke on Saturday. In that game, senior forward Chelsi Scott posted a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds, while Kayla Jang finished with nine points and a game-best five assists and three steals. Scott is fifth in the conference, averaging 13.6 points per game and leads the NEWMAC with 9.3 rebounds per contest. The Blue average 46.3 points per game and are shooting 30.7 percent from the field and 25.4 percent from 3-point range.

The Pioneers
Smith (9-14, 5-9 NEWMAC) looks to win their third-straight game tonight against the Blue after a 56-49 win over Emerson on Saturday afternoon. In that game, first-year forward Kennedy Guest-Pritchett (Fairburn, GA/The Lawrenceville School) poured in 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Tia Karapoulios (Cypress, Calif./Cypress) added 10 points and five rebounds off the bench. Guest-Pritchett is ranked second in the NEWMAC with 9.1 rebounds per game and is fourth in field goal percentage (49.6%), while Lauren Bondi (Burnaby, BC, Can./Notre Dame Secondary) (36.5%) is third in the conference in three-point shooting percentage. The Pioneers score 61.9 points per game and are shooting 36.8 percent from the field and 30.5 from behind-the-arc.

Smith plays their final regular season home game on Saturday against Clark at 2 p.m. The Pioneers will celebrate their two graduating seniors in their annual Play4Kay pink game.
