NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The postseason gets underway for the Smith College basketball team when the No. 7 seed Pioneers (10-14, 7-9) travel to Worcester to play No. 2 seed WPI (21-4, 13-3) Wednesday in the quarterfinal round of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). The winner will meet either #3 Coast Guard or #6 Wheaton in the semifinals on Saturday, February 27.
After going 15-1 in conference play, Babson received a first-round bye and will host the semifinals and championship game Saturday and Sunday.

The Series

Lauren Bondi (Burnaby, BC, Can./Notre Dame Secondary) ranks third in the conference from behind the arc (34.7). The Pioneers score 62.7 points per game and are shooting 37.2 percent from the field and 31.2 percent from long distance.
