Last Meeting

Samantha Alakai (Pukalani, Hawaii/Punahou School) recorded career-highs in points (24) and rebounds (9) to lead the Pioneers, but it wasn't enough as Trinity rallied for a 63-61 non-conference win at Ainsworth Gymnasium on February 11, 2015. Trailing 62-61, the Pioneers forced the Bantams to turn the ball over after the shot clock expired with 18 seconds remaining, but Smith was unable to get a good look at the basket on their final possession.

The Series
In a series that dates back to the 1978 season, this is the 41st meeting between these two schools. Trinity leads 32-8. The Pioneers last win came on December 8, 2012, 68-47.

The Bantams
Trinity (10-9) looks to get back in the win column after their 77-61 loss to Bates last Saturday. In that game, Mackenzie Griffin had 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals to lead the Bantams and made 17 free throws in 19 attempts for a 89.5 free-throw percentage in the three games last week. Griffin leads the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) in points per game (18.8) and rebounds per game (11.6). The Bantams average 60.2 points per game and are shooting 38.6 percent from the field and 24.0 percent from 3-point range.

The Pioneers
Smith (7-14) looks to win their final non-conference game of the season against Trinity. The Pioneers nearly upset MIT, but fell on the road Saturday, 48-45. In that game, first-year Kennedy Guest-Pritchett (Fairburn, GA/The Lawrenceville School) paced the Pioneers with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. Guest-Pritchett leads the NEWMAC with 9.2 rebounds per game and is third in field goal percentage (50.0%), while Lauren Bondi (Burnaby, BC, Can./Notre Dame Secondary) (37.3%) is third in the conference in three-point shooting percentage. The Pioneers score 61.9 points per game and are shooting 36.6 from the field and 30.6 from behind-the-arc.
