THE SERIES
The game marks the 42nd meeting between the two programs, dating back to the first contest during the 1975 season - a 65-53 Springfield victory.
LAST MEETING
Smith's hot shooting propelled the Pioneers to a 79-61 victory over Springfield College in NEWMAC action on January 6, 2016 in Blake Arena. The 79 points were the most allowed by the Pride during the 2015-16 season.

Alyssa Barrett (Berlin, Conn./Berlin), Smith's comeback attempt fell just short as the Pioneers dropped a 56-52 decision to the Pride on February 4, 2015.
SCOUTING THE PRIDE
Springfield (9-4, 5-0) looks to remain undefeated in NEWMAC play in today's game against Smith. The Pride have won four in a row and are coming off a 71-41 victory over Wheaton College. In that game, senior center Ava Adamopoulos led the way with an incredible performance, posting 18 points and a career-high 16 rebounds for her third double double of the season as the Pride improved to 5-0 in the conference for the first time since the 2005-06 season. Adamopoulos, who was named Player of the Week by the ECAC and NEWMAC on Monday, ranks in the top-5 of the conference in points per game (16.8), rebounds per game (8.5) and field goal percentage (54.8). Senior guard Molly McCausland leads the NEWMAC, shooting 48.5 from three-point range. Springfield averages 70.2 points per game and was picked to finish thurd in the NEWMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Smith (10-3, 3-2) is off to their best start since the 2012-13 season after their come-from-behind 71-58 win over Clark University Tuesday evening. Trailing 31-24 at haftime, the Pioneers outscored the Cougars 47-27 in the second half. Sophomore guard

Sydney Koh (Seattle, Wash. /Lakeside) is a threat from deep, connecting on 45.7 percent from three-point range. The Pioneers have the league's second-highest scoring offense, averaging 70.5 points per game, and were voted to finish fifth in the Preseason Coaches' Poll.
