• The Smith College basketball team opens the 2017-18 campaign tonight against the Gators of Pine Manor College.

 

• The Pioneers are 8-2 in season openers under head coach Lynn Hersey.

 

• Smith returns their leading scorer and rebounder in senior forward Kennedy Guest-Pritchett (Fairburn, Ga./The Lawrenceville School), a NEWMAC All-Conference First Team honoree.

 

• Guest-Pritchett is just 265 points from 1,000 in her career and needs 25 offense rebounds to become the all-time leader in program history.

 

• Pine Manor returns Shaneka Monroe and Shaquanda Middleton to a team featuring eight underclassmen...the pair combined for 35 of Pine Manor's 56 points against Smith last season.
