FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

The Smith College basketball team begins NEWMAC play tonight at MIT in a rematch of last season's conference semifinals.

Junior forward Kennedy Guest-Pritchett (Fairburn, Ga./The Lawrenceville School) leads the conference in rebounds (10.8) and is fifth in points per game (16.4), shooting 58.9 percent from the field...she is four offensive rebounds away from becoming the program's all-time leader in that category.

Junior guard Lauren Bondi (Burnaby, BC, Can./Notre Dame Secondary) is fourth in the NEWMAC with 16.8 points per game and is shooting a blistering 76.2 percent from three-point range...After her seven treys last week, she moved to fourth in program history with 85 three-pointers.

The Engineers return Kara Holinski and Taylor V'Dovec who were both named to the NEWMAC All-Conference First Team during their sophomore seasons...V'Dovec is averaging 15.0 points per game this season, while Holinski is scoring 14.3 points per contest.

Smith was picked to finish fourth in the NEWMAC Preseason Poll, while MIT was selected second.
