FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

The Smith College basketball team looks for their first NEWMAC win of the season Saturday against WPI.

Junior forward Kennedy Guest-Pritchett (Fairburn, Ga./The Lawrenceville School) ranks second in the conference in rebounds (9.7) and is fourth in points per game (15.2), shooting 54.5 percent from the field...she is two offensive rebounds away from becoming the program's all-time leader in that category.

Junior guard Lauren Bondi (Burnaby, BC, Can./Notre Dame Secondary) is third in the NEWMAC with 16.3 points per game and is shooting a blistering 70.8 percent from three-point range.

The Engineers are led by senior Ama Biney who was named the NEWMAC Offensive and Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday...she also earned NEWBA and WACBA Player of the Week recognition after averaging 20.5 points and 9.5 rebounds last week...Biney became the 18th WPI women's basketball player to reach the 1,000-point milestone last Saturday.

Smith was picked to finish fourth in the NEWMAC Preseason Poll, while MIT was selected third.
