SMITH HIGHLIGHTS

  • Clelie Fielding (Francestown, N.H./High Mowing School) recorded a goal and assist to lead Smith, while Caroline Myran (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown Friends School) scooped up six ground balls, won two draw controls and caused a trio of turnovers. 
  • Sarah Price (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) played the full 60 in net for Smith and made 16 saves. 
  • Smith went 19-for-30 in clears and finished just 0-for-1 on free position opportunities. 

EMERSON HIGHLIGHTS

  • Along with Weber and Windsor, Tomsky and Messuri each tallied goals for the Lions. 
  • Freshman Sophia Gripari and Mumford both recorded a pair of assists. and sophomore Paige Haley caused four turnovers. 
  • Junior Kristina Modica was credited with the win and made four saves through 60 minutes between the pipes for Emerson. 
  • Emerson held the advantage in draw controls (17-4), shots (40-10), and finished 18-for-20 in clears and were 6-of-19 in free position shots. 


HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Emily Briggs gave Smith the early 1-0 just three minutes into the first half at the 26:55 mark. 
  • Emerson capitalized on a costly Smith penalty that allowed Windsor to net the 1-all equalizer with nine seconds left on the foul. 
  • At the 13:31 mark, Fielding put Smith up 2-1 before Emerson tallied a string of three goals to give themselves a two-goal cushion at 4-2. 
  • Freshman Jenna Tomsky knotted the score 2-all as junior Brooke Goshtigian followed up with a net 48 seconds later before Weber put in the fourth Emerson goal. 
  • Sydney Garner (Beaverton, Ore./Oregon Episcopal School) closed Smith back within one at 4-3 at 7:46, but sophomore Mia Doyon pulled Emerson ahead by a pair at 5-3 to close out the half. 
  • The Lions continued to attack within the early minutes of second half and extended their lead to five at 8-3. 
  • Windsor found the back of the net at 27:00 to put the score at 6-3 as Weber and junior Megan Messuri dished out goals to give Emerson the five-goal lead. 
  • The Pioneers cut the lead in half at 8-4 on a net by Caroline Myran (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown Friends School) with 16:31 left to play in the second half. 
  • Freshman Camille Mumford set up the next pair of Emerson goals to Windsor and Weber put the score at 10-4 before Smith cut the lead in half again at 10-5 on a goal by Bella Ferraro (Orange, Conn./Amity). 
  • With the five goal-lead, Emerson dished out a trio of goals from Tomsky and a pair from Weber to extend the Lions advantage to 13-5 with 3:15 to play in the second.
  • Emerson closed out the 15-5 win as Weber and Windsor dished a pair of goals within the final 20 seconds of regulation.
