THE SERIES
Smith and Springfield will meet for the 34th time on Thursday night in a series that dates back to 1974. The Pride are 28-4-1 all-time against the Pioneers but Smith has won three of the last four meetings.

LAST MEETING
Junior Anna Ballou (Deerfield, Mass./Deerfield Academy) finished with two goals and an assist as the Pioneers topped Springfield 5-0 on Ocotber 5, 2018. Goalkeeper Channy Cornell (Arlington, Tex./The Oakridge School) made two saves in the shutout victory.

LAST SPRINGFIELD WIN
Senior forward Maggie Kennedy scored two goals in the first-half as Springfield claimed a road victory over Smith on October 7, 2017.

REGIONAL RANKINGS
In the most recent NCAA Division III New England Regional Rankings, Smith was ranked fifth, while the Pride earned the No. 2 spot.

SCOUTING THE PRIDE
  • Springfield has made every NEWMAC Tournament dating back to the 1998 season.
  • The Pride enter the postseason on a five-game winning streak following Sunday's 3-2 win over MIT.
  • Amanda Nusbaum leads the country with total assists (23) and Taylor Conley ranks second in the NEWMAC in goals (20) and third in points (45).
  • Goalkeeper Emmalie Drake ranks second in the conference in saves (129) and save percentage (.777).

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
  • Third-seeded Smith (12-7) downed sixth-seeded Mount Holyoke (9-10), 2-1 in OT, in a NEWMAC Tournament quarterfinal.
  • Senior Sammie Pavlov (Royersford, Pa./Westtown School) scored the game-winner in overtime and added an assist as the Pioneers advanced to their third semifinals in the last four years.
  • Junior Anna Ballou (Deerfield, Mass./Deerfield Academy) ranks fourth in the NEWMAC with seven assists and senior Beatrice Chaduoin has recorded five defensive saves this season.
  • Junior Sammie Pavlov (Royersford, Pa./Westtown School) leads the Pioneer offense with 10 goals and four assists.
  • Cornell owns a 1.70 goals against average and .683 save percentage to go along with three shutouts in 19 starts.

Championship: Saturday, Nov. 3rd (at highest remaining seed)
