NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Smith College volleyball team kept it close throughout the entire match but ultimately dell to Elms College, 3-0 (21-25, 21-25, 23-25), Saturday afternoon in non-conference action. With the setback, the Pioneers move to 0-5 on the season, while the Blazers improve to 6-0.
NOTABLES
- Sophomore Caleigh Johnson (Georgetown, Tex./St. Dominic Savio Catholic) led the home squad with eight kills while also adding two solo blocks, and two aces.
- First year Anna Lynch (Lenox, Mass./Lenox Memorial) added a career-high 29 kills to go along with three service aces.
- Senior Helena Wiatrowski (Winchester, Mass./Winchester)Â finished with a team-high 10 assists and posted 13 digs.
- Sophomore Claire Cicchetti (Menlo Park, Calif./Woodside)Â recorded seven kills, six digs, and three blocks.
- With the loss, Smith moves to 8-3 all-time against the Blazers.
