NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Smith College volleyball team is off to its best start since the 2013 season thanks to a pair of wins Saturday over Clark and Connecticut College. In the opener against NEWMAC foe Clark, the Pioneers won 3-1 (25-17, 25-22, 27-29, 25-20) before a comeback 3-1 (24-26, 25-22, 25-21, 25-14) victory over the Camels.

- Abby Sweeney (Spring, Tex./Klein) posted a career-high 20 kills followed by Sarah Dankovic who added 10
- Nathalie Pak (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) totaled 37 assists, while Gabby Beckman (Aurora, Colo./Grandview) led the defensive effort with 22 digs
- Sweeney and Ava Zollinger (Orlando, Fla./Lake Highland Prep) each recorded three blocks
SMITH 3 CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 1
- Sweeney again led the way with 16 kills as Smith hit .350 for the match
- Pak matched her game one effort with 37 assists, while Fiona Hegarty (Tustin, Calif./Foothill)Â produced four aces and three blocks
- Beckman posted digs and Olivia Smith (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais) finished with 12 kills and nine digs
