NORTHAMPTON - In a key matchup between two conference opponents, the WPI field hockey team came away with a 2-0 victory over Smith College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play Saturday morning. 
The win boosted the Engineers' record to 7-6, 4-1 in conference action, while the Pioneers fell to 8-6, 4-2.

	- In the fourth, WPI doubled its lead on a tally from Drasser
 
	- WPI held a 15-6 advantage in shots and 6-3 edge in corners in the contest
 
	- Rory Harper (Wayne, Penn./Radnor) made 10 saves for the Pioneers while Gwen Tuckett (Cambridge, Mass./Dana Hall School) added a defensive save
