Field Hockey Rallies Past Keene State

KEENE, NH - The Smith College field hockey team used a come-from-behind effort to secure a 3-2 win over Keene State College Thursday evening. With the win, the Pioneers improve to 4-5 on the year.

  • 28:56 - KSC 1 SMI 1 - Annie Wimsatt (Westerville, OH/Columbus Academy)

How it Happened
  • The Owls got on the board early in the first period when Piasecki fired a shot on goal for her third of the year
  • Late in the second, the Pioneers were awarded a penalty corner where Eva Kinnel (Newtown, Penn./George School) inserted to Wimsatt who found the back of the net for her first of the year
  • Smith doubled its lead by converting another corner thanks to Peterson
  • As time expired in the third, the Owls were awarded a penalty stroke where Murray shot it past Smith's keeper to tie the game
  • Minutes into the final period, Guimond registered the game-winning goal

  • Smith moves to 5-12 overall against the Owls
  • Wimsatt registered her first career goals for the Pioneers, while Guimond now leads the team with five goals
  • Smith goalkeeper Rory Harper (Wayne, Penn./Radnor) made five saves
