HARTFORD, CT - Katrina Winfield netted three goals to lead No. 5 Trinity to a 5-0 victory over Smith College field hockey on Thursday. The Bantams improved to 1-0 overall, while the Pioneers dropped to 2-2.

How it Happened
- After a scoreless first, the Bantams got on the board in the second as Winfield took a pass from Nichols
- Smith had their best scoring chance in the third quarter. The visitors earned three penalty corners, but the Trinity defense denied all opportunities
- Trinity doubled its lead minutes into the third quarter and added two in the fourth for the final 5-0 margin

- Sophomore goalkeeper Rory Harper (Wayne, Penn./Radnor) made seven saves in the loss
- The Pioneers attempted 13 shots in the circle and took three penalty corners
