SCHENECTADY, NY - The Smith College lacrosse team suffered a 19-0 setback to Union College Wednesday evening in non-conference action. The Pioneers drop to 4-4, while Union improves to 4-1. 

How it Happened

• Union jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back as it went up 13-0 at the half
• Six second-half goals made it a final score of 19-0

By the Numbers

• Caroline Sanders (Trabuco, CA/Santa Margarita) led Smith with four shots
• Brooke Testa (Pittstown, NJ/Delaware Valley) stopped six shots in 30 minutes of action, while Shannon Houtenville (East Windsor, NJ/Highstown) made two saves in the second half
• Union dominated in all facets of the game, posting a 34-6 edge in shots, a 20-2 edge in draw controls and limited Smith to a 6-of-18 mark on clear attempts and caused 13 of the Pioneers' 18 turnovers

The Pioneers will set its sights on a conference matchup with Springfield College on Saturday, March 25 at 12:00pm.
