WILLIAMSTOWN - The Smith College softball team dropped a pair of road games at Williams College Wednesday afternoon by scores of 8-5 and 9-1 (5 Innings). Smith is now 8-12 on the year. 

Game 1 Highlights

• Smith went up 1-0 in the first and 3-0 in the second on CeCe Alaniz's (Bakersfield, Calif./East Bakersfield) first homerun of the year
• Williams added four runs in the third to take a 4-3 lead
• The Pioneers tied the game on an error by the Williams defense and went ahead 5-4 when Kiera Collins-Joseph (Arlington, Va./Wakefield) scored on a fielders choice
• A homer by Bri Kang knotted the game at 5-5 before three runs by the Ephs made it an 8-5 final
• Collins-Joseph and Taylor Ang (San Diego, CA/Canyon Crest Academy) each finished with two hits, while Lucy Helms (Alameda, Calif./Alameda) allowed eight runs on nine hits with three strikeouts

Game 2 Highlights

• Maegan Osmond (Weston, Fla./Cypress Bay) scored on an error by the pitcher to give Smith a 1-0 lead in the first
• Williams added three in the second and four more runs in the second to go ahead 7-1
• RBI singles in the third and fifth proved to be enough for the 9-1 final in five innings

Smith returns to conference play Friday, April 14 when the Pioneers host Springfield College for a doubleheader starting at 3:00pm.
