NEW LONDON, CT - The Smith College lacrosse team was upended by Coast Guard, 15-5, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) matchup Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers dip to 6-8 on the year with a 3-3 mark in league play. The Bears move to 10-4 overall, 6-1 NEWMAC.

- Coast Guard scored back-to-back goals to open the quarter and Smith cut the lead in half on Tatum Galuski's (Ipswich, Mass./Ipswich)Â unassisted marker. The two teams exchanged goals in the closing minutes of the period and the Bears took a 4-2 lead going into the second
- CGA outscored Smith 3-1 in the second to hold a 7-3 advantage at halftime
- The Bears dominated the third period, outscoring Smith 7-0 for a 14-3 edge
- Coast Guard would add one more before Jennie Arancio (Smithtown, N.Y./Hauppauge) and Reese Gittelman (Ocean City, Md./Worcester Preparatory)Â scored for the 15-5 final
